Hi - I'm Dave
I started FAFF after spending 10 years working in speciality coffee. I've build a specialty coffee in Edinburgh bar called Brew Lab and I've worked at one of the UK's largest speciality coffee roasters.
After all that I was left wondering...
Why does enjoying amazing coffee have to be such a faff?
Sure you can spend time weighing out your beans, grinding them, honing your complicated Aeropress, V60 or French Press recipe... but I don't have the time (or inclination) for that any more.
I wanted a way to make coffee that didn't require lugging all that equipment about, and all that faff.
I wanted to be able to make outstanding coffee anywhere.
So what's the deal with Speciality Coffee then?
The future of coffee is under threat.
Unfair wages, poor quality, and bargain basement coffee, climate change and complex supply chains all contribute to a broken system that isn't sustaining the people who grow this crop.
Speciality Coffee is about incentivising quality in the coffee supply chain and building long term relationships with coffee growers.
Without these things, farmers cannot plan for the future and more and more will continue to be driven below the poverty line.
Speciality Coffee is the future of coffee.
